Changes for purchasing bibliotheca® products coming soon for OhioNET members!
After much consideration, OhioNET has decided not to renew our distributor contract with bibliotheca® for 2021. As we prepare to end this contract, we are committed to helping our member libraries locate new sources for obtaining bibliotheca materials.
Starting March 1, 2021, member libraries can get competitive pricing and place orders for bibliotheca products through Minitex, a library consortium based in Minnesota. For over 30 years, Minitex has served as a distributor of 3M and bibliotheca products. Minitex has a strong relationship with bibliotheca, and both organizations are located in the same community.
As a non-profit consortium and a program of the University of Minnesota, Minitex’s focus is on supporting and helping libraries. Ordering through them starts with registering as a new customer. There is no membership or registration fee required for OhioNET members to purchase bibliotheca supplies from Minitex. Once registered, ordering is easy, and credit card purchasing is available. Tim has been coordinating 3M/bibliotheca sales for Minitex for the last 30 years, so customers always know who they are dealing with when they call Minitex.
Once you get approved to order through the Minitex website, you can order any item on the Minitex Products site. You can be billed directly from Minitex with or without a PO, or you can use a credit card from the site: https://shop.minitex.umn.edu/Tattletapes. You can also email orders to Tim at [email protected] or [email protected]. Credit card orders are encouraged through the Products store to maintain security.
Minitex is a distributor of all bibliotheca products, and they pride themselves on always having the best price for libraries. If you get a direct quote from bibliotheca on any products or systems, please forward the quote to Tim, so that he can get you the discounted Minitex price for you to compare.
