COOL Welcomes Wilmington Public Library

On Thursday, January 16, 2020 the Wilmington Public Library of Clinton County joined the Consortium of Ohio Libraries (COOL), adding over 70,000 additional items to the COOL-CAT collection. The Wilmington Public Library is one of thirteen member libraries in the Ohio-based consortium that uses Evergreen ILS, since its inception in 2012.

Resource sharing will begin with all other COOL member libraries on January 23, making over 780,000 materials available to the Wilmington community. This means shorter hold periods, faster access, and a family of libraries within driving distance where a Wilmington library card is honored.

Evergreen, the open source ILS originally developed by PINES (Public Information Network for Electronic Services) for the Georgia Public Library Service, is used by over 2,000 libraries across 31 states, 7 countries, and 6 Canadian provinces. This count only includes reported installations, as anybody is free to download, install and try it out for their library.
