OhioNet is proud to introduce a new partnership with the Indie Author Project (IAP), an initiative from BiblioBoard. The Indie Author Project has been around for over 10 years and is in place in over 2,000 libraries across the US and Canada. These libraries are empowering their local authors to submit their own work into the library catalog. This is a simple, turnkey service for library staff with BiblioBoard – their curation partners handling all of the vetting, review, and curation for the library. All you need to do is point your authors to a branded submission page that is created for your library. Finally, in addition to being able to build an archive of local writing, Library Journal reviews the submissions for quality and highlights the best books which then get placed into our royalty program! Roy Serrao Senior Library Consultant

Roy Serrao is the Senior Library Consultant for the Ebooks and Community Engagement division of Lyrasis. He works with Department Heads at libraries across the world, providing community engagement tools to help libraries accept and showcase digital work directly from their communities. He brings over 18 years of Sales and Marketing experience to his role, 9 of which being in the library software field. Roy holds a B.A. in Sociology from East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania and now lives in Hendersonville, NC.
