About this Job

The Student Success and Instruction Librarian, an administrative position with non-tenure track faculty status, drives Thomas Library's instruction and outreach efforts in support of the University's commitment to student success. This position applies their expertise in library instruction, outreach, and assessment and actively partners on campus-wide student success initiatives. They develop and deliver innovative, inclusive, and multi-modal approaches to library instruction and programming. They also work closely with COMPASS Student Success, Student Affairs and other campus departments. This is a full-time, exempt-level position reporting to the Director of the Thomas Library.

Salary

50,000-55,000

Required Qualifications

A Master's degree in library science or equivalent (MSLS, MLIS, MALS etc.) from a library school program accredited by the American Library Association or other relevant advanced degree is required by start of appointment.
Classroom teaching experience, preferably in an academic library setting.
Demonstrated understanding of principles of information literacy instruction.
Enthusiasm for creating an inclusive environment for all students and supporting student retention efforts.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Competency and experience using Microsoft Office software, specifically proficient in the use of Excel, Publisher, Outlook, and PowerPoint with the ability and desire to learn additional software applications as necessary.
Ability to reach for books on shelves, to lift and move books, materials, or equipment, often up to 25-30 pounds.
Ability to sit at a computer workstation for more than 50% of workday and perform repetitive motions, such as typing or using a computer mouse.
Evening and weekend work is occasionally required.
