
Call for Proposals: Present at OhioNet MakerFest on June 18!

OhioNet invites library practitioners to submit proposals for presentations on library making and makerspaces to share at “OhioNet MakerFest: A Summit for Library Makers + Makerspaces” on June 18, 2025. This in-person event, hosted at the State Library of Ohio, will explore the ways libraries can establish, maintain and enhance making programs or makerspaces in their institutions.
We are looking for both individual and full panel presentations that highlight:
- Establishing a makerspace or maker program: Tips to get started in the face of resource restraints
- Programming and lesson plans for makerspaces/making
- Issues of accessibility, sustainability or inclusion
- Makerspace collaborations and/or partnerships
- Makerspace/maker program assessment and advocacy
Proposal Guidelines:
- Title of Presentation: A concise and engaging title.
- Abstract: 250-500 words summarizing the content of your presentation and its relevance to the summit.
- Presenters: Name, title and affiliation of proposed speaker(s).
- Session Format (please indicate which format best fits your proposal): Lightning Talk (20-25 minutes), Multiple Panelists (4 maximum; 90 minutes), or Single Session Presentation (45 Minutes)
- Technical Requirements: Any special equipment, set-up, or accessibility needs that we should consider.
Submission Deadline: April 7, 2025
Submission Instructions: Please submit your proposal in our MakerFest Proposal Submission Form. Selected speakers will be notified by April 25, 2025. Speakers will be given an honorarium. Meals will be provided to all speakers during the summit. Transportation will not be provided.
