Call for Proposals: Student Presentations on AI Initiatives

OhioNet invites current or recently graduated library students to submit proposals for panel presentations at our upcoming summit, “AI Alchemy: Libraries Growing Smarter” on November 19, 2024. This in-person event, hosted at the State Library of Ohio, will explore the intersection of artificial intelligence and libraries, focusing on how AI is transforming library services, enhancing user experiences, and driving growth in our communities.

We are looking for presentations that highlight:

  • Experimentation: Trial and error where students pushed the boundaries of AI, exploring its potential in innovative ways.
  • Completed Projects: AI-driven projects initiated by students, either independently or as part of academic coursework.
  • Impact: How these AI projects have contributed to learning, problem-solving, or other areas of interest.

This is an excellent opportunity for students to showcase their creativity and ingenuity in leveraging AI technologies.

Proposal Guidelines:

  • Title of Presentation: A concise and engaging title.
  • Abstract: 250-500 words summarizing the content of your presentation and its relevance to AI in libraries.
  • Presenters: Names, titles, and affiliations of proposed panelists and speakers.
  • Session Format: Panel discussion with 3 speakers, up to 60 minutes including Q&A.
  • Technical Requirements: Any special equipment, set-up, or accessibility needs that we should consider.

Submission Deadline: October 25, 2024

Submission Instructions: Please submit your proposal via email to [email protected] by the above deadline. Selected speakers will be notified by October 31, 2024. Panelists will be given an honorarium and credits for 2 synchronous online OhioNet classes. Meals will be provided to panelists during the summit. Transportation will not be provided.
