NoveList Package Content Updates and Training Information
EBSCO has recently updated many products in the NoveList Suite and shared that information should it be helpful to our membership.
NoveList
This spring, NoveList added Themes — popular and recurring plot elements found in fiction — think ‘chosen ones’ in fantasy or ‘fake relationships’ in romance. Readers will see them in NoveList where the genre and appeal terms of a book are displayed. Customers can learn more through a short YouTube tutorial on searching for them in NoveList and a longer webinar on using them in your readers’ advisory practice.
NoveList partnered with LibraryReads to offer genre-related education beginning in January. We’ll cover a different genre every session, led by librarians from LibraryReads and NoveList, along with searching tips for finding genre information in NoveList. Next up: Crime, Mysteries and Thrillers, in March.
NoveList Select
NoveList launched the latest version of Select this year, enhancing readers’ user experience by making it easier to see title, author and series recommendations along with why they’re being recommended.
Other new features:
- An interactive story mixer so that readers can select the terms most important to them to choose a read perfect for them.
- Accelerated Reader, making it easy for students to identify that just-right book
- On the Shelf, so readers will know — in real time — if a recommended title is available and in what format, and will be able to determine whether read-alikes and their picks in the story mixer are available
LibraryAware
The drag and drop editor is now available in all three different sizes of bookmarks. Now, librarians can create bookmarks to match the other readers’ advisory templates NoveList offers.
NoveList added Learning Express templates to LibraryAware, making it easy for libraries to get the word out about all Learning Express offers. See them all in one place on their Pinterest page.
