OhioNet Training Update

Over the last two years, OhioNet’s training team has been creating a new online format designed to mimic the real-time, hands-on engagement of the in-person professional development opportunities offered for library staff. While OhioNet plans to resume in-person training at some stage, the pandemic continues to teach us about the need for high-quality, remotely accessible events.

To help distinguish between this new, live format and our long-standing webinars, we are rebranding them as live learning events. What makes live learning events different from our traditional webinars?

Comparison chart of OhioNet live learning events vs. traditional webinars. Live learning events require real-time attendance and are small, interactive, and project-focused. Traditional webinars accomodate up to 500 people, provide topical overviews, and are generally recorded and available in OhioNet's training archive.

Your first chance to explore our live learning events comes in June, when we’ll tackle the topic of fair use of copyrighted material. In July, join us for an exploration of bias and micro messages led by SHIFT Consulting. Watch OhioNet’s training page for new live learning event topics coming this fall, including cataloging common audio-visual formats and creating original catalog records.
