Description

Dealing with Sensitive Content: Tips for Selecting Material and Adding Context

Each institution has culturally significant materials that document history as it happened and as it was recorded. Some items contain images, language, and/or content that are considered offensive, insensitive, or otherwise inappropriate by today’s standards. It is not the institution’s job to deny access to this part of the historical record, but what is the best way to share these resources?

This session will cover how to handle sensitive content, from selecting materials to adding context in your metadata to using tools like customized thumbnails and disclaimers.
