Description

Virtual Summit Dates

Please note: There are two virtual event dates for your convenience – please choose the time that works best for you. These are live events and will not be recorded to encourage candid conversation.

  • May 22, from 1-3 p.m. (to register for the May 22 event, please visit this page)
  • June 5 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m.

Join us on June 5, 2024 for one of two interactive virtual summits as we delve into and explore the findings from the OhioNet Anti-Racism, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion assessment. The virtual summits will build on outcomes of the in-person Together We Thrive: Dream Summit on May 10.

Librarians, staff, hiring managers, supervisors, and library administrators interested in DEI advancement will have the opportunity to engage with peers from across the state in this live discussion event. Hear insights shared from Ohio BIPOC librarians and delve deeper into the library careers, challenges, and opportunities illuminated through over 40 structured appreciative inquiry interviews with the ADEI Library Team and consultants.

These interviews offer insights into the experiences of professional BIPOC librarians, shedding light on meaningful inclusive organizational practices that significantly influence their careers and contribute to fostering an inclusive workplace.

Together, participants will learn what meaningfully contributes to fostering inclusive libraries, while actively engaging in activities that collectively chart a course for meaningful action.

Event Expectations

This virtual summit is designed to mimic the real-time, hands-on engagement of an in-person workshop. Attendees should have access to a microphone (or headset) and a camera to participate most fully.
