About Training Tracks
OhioNet is pleased to offer several training tracks designed to give librarians and library staff a wide-range of professional development an continuing education opportunities. Our training tracks:
- Wellbeing – addressing issues related to workplace satisfaction, including effective workplace policies, work-life balance, and human centered design
- Digitization – for library professionals interested in learning how to plan and execute digitization projects
- Cataloging – providing librarians and staff with the theory, processes, and tools to develop their cataloging skills
- Copyright – essential skills and education on topics related to copyright, including rights management, copyright statements, and patron inquiries
- Vendor Resources – hosted demonstrations illustrating how to use electronic resources within the OhioNet portfolio, as well as new electronic resources
- Member Events – networking opportunities designed to facilitate collaboration and camaraderie amongst library professionals within the OhioNet membership
Webinar Deadlines & Info
Deadlines: Registrations for OhioNet webinars close at 11:59 PM one business day prior to the scheduled date.
Confirmations: You will receive emails for each webinar you sign-up for.
- The first confirmation, from [email protected], is sent immediately upon completion of the online registration form. It contains all your registration information (except credit card numbers).
- The second email confirmation will come 24 hours before the event as a reminder of your registration.
- If you do not receive either confirmation email, please contact OhioNet to confirm that you are registered.
We record and archive all our webinar sessions. As a courtesy, all registrants, regardless of their ability to attend in real-time, will receive a link to access the recording.
Workshops Deadlines & Info
Deadlines: Registrations for OhioNet workshops close at 11:59 PM four days prior to the scheduled date.
Confirmations: You will receive two emails for each workshop you sign-up for.
- The first confirmation, from [email protected], is sent immediately upon completion of the online registration form. It contains all your registration information (except credit card numbers).
- The second email confirmation will come 3 business days before the event from OhioNet’s Member Services Specialist Lisa Witmer (Lisa Witmer – [email protected]). This will contain any materials provided by the workshop leader and a reminder of the workshop date and start time.
- If you do not receive either confirmation email, please contact OhioNet to confirm that you are registered.
Morning refreshments, coffee, and tea are provided at all OhioNet workshops, but registrants are on their own for lunch, unless the workshop description says otherwise.
Cancellations
Members can cancel their registration for events through the My Events page within their member portal.
For non-members, if plans change and you are no longer able to attend an event, please contact us as soon as possible. This will allow any waitlisted individuals an opportunity to attend.
- There is no penalty for cancellation of registration 72 hours or more prior to a workshop.
- Cancellations with less than 72 hours notice or failure to attend a workshop will result in a charge of the full workshop fee.
- If illness or emergency prevents you from attending, please ask someone from your library to notify OhioNet or to attend in your place (if possible).
- OhioNet will accept cancellation notices by phone (800-686-8975) or by e-mail ([email protected]).
- In case of bad weather, the decision will be made (if possible) to cancel a workshop, and all registrants notified, by noon the day before. If in doubt, please call OhioNet at 800-686-8975.
- OhioNet may cancel workshops due to lack of registrants. If a workshop is cancelled, you will be notified at least five days in advance. Every attempt will be made to reschedule the class.
